We pray...That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth,and length, and depth, and height;  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge
…that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19

DAY 2—The Apostle Paul  connected knowing God’s fullness with knowing His love.

Paul leads us to pray...that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God in Ephesians 3:19. It’s clear we must find the depths of God’s love. This goes beyond what our minds can discern and leaves us with a matter for the heart.

So, as we start our praying, let us keep in mind last month’s prayer about love. See it here again from the NIrV:

  • Ephesians 3:17b-19—And I pray that your love will have deep roots. I pray that it will have a strong foundation. May you have power with all God’s people to understand Christ’s love. May you know how wide and long and high and deep it is. And may you know His love, even though it can’t be known completely. Then you will be filled with everything God has for you.

Since God is love (I John 4:8), knowing His fullness means we will know His love. Fullness and love are closely connected in getting to know God. Since we are going where our hearts must go first, we must allow the Holy Spirit to supply the force needed to drive us into some of the places that love will require us to go.

  • Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed (disappointed, or frustrated); because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.

DEAR FATHER, I am ready for Your love to take over in my life. Let it lead me into areas that I have kept closed. You know that there are some people I have difficulty in loving. But, I am asking You today to work a miracle of love and grace in me. Set me free to love these people unconditionally. O, DEAR LORD, I am asking this even though there is still something in me that does not want to ask it. I do want You to overrule me in this matter.
